I AM WHO I AM
     Then
Moses said to God, "Behold, I am going to the

sons of Israel, and I will say to them, 'The God of

your fathers has sent me to you.' Now they may say

to me, 'What is His name?' What shall I say to them?"

God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said,

"Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel,'I AM has

sent me to you.'"  God, furthermore, said to Moses,

"Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'The LORD,

the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the

God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to

you.' This is My name forever, and this is My

memorial-name to all generations." -- 3:13-15

SLOW OF SPEECH
     Then
Moses said to the LORD, "Please, Lord, I have

never been eloquent, neither recently nor in time

past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant;

for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue."  The

LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or

who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is

it not I, the LORD?  Now then go, and I, even I, will

be with your mouth, and teach you what you are to

say." -- 4:10-12

THE PASSOVER
     Now
the LORD said to Moses and Aaron in the land

of Egypt, "This month shall be the beginning of

months for you; it is to be the first month of the year

to you.  Speak to all the congregation of Israel,

saying, 'On the tenth of this month they are each

one to take a lamb for themselves, according to

their fathers' households, a lamb for each household.

Now if the household is too small for a lamb, then he

and his neighbor nearest to his house are to take

one according to the number of persons in them;

according to what each man should eat, you are to

divide the lamb.  Your lamb shall be an unblemished

male a year old; you may take it from the sheep or

from the goats. You shall keep it until the fourteenth

day of the same month, then the whole assembly of

the congregation of Israel is to kill it at twilight.

Moreover, they shall take some of the blood and

put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the

houses in which they eat it.  They shall eat the flesh

that same night, roasted with fire, and they shall eat

it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. Do not

eat any of it raw or boiled at all with water, but rather

roasted with fire, both its head and its legs along with

its entrails.  And you shall not leave any of it over

until morning, but whatever is left of it until morning,

you shall burn with fire. Now you shall eat it in this

manner: with your loins girded, your sandals on your

feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat

it in haste -- it is the LORD'S Passover.  For I will go

through the land of Egypt on that night, and will

strike down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt,

both man and beast; and against all the gods of

Egypt I will execute judgments -- I am the LORD.

The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses

where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass

over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy

you when I strike the land of Egypt.  Now this day

will be a memorial to you, and you shall celebrate it

as a feast to the LORD; throughout your generations

you are to celebrate it as a permanent ordinance.

-- 12:1-14

THE SONG OF MOSES
     I
will sing to the LORD, for He is highly exalted;

The horse and its rider He has hurled into the sea.

The LORD is my strength and song, And He has

become my salvation; This is my God, and I will

praise Him; My father's God, and I will extol Him.

The LORD is a warrior; The LORD is His name.

Pharaoh's chariots and his army He has cast into

the sea; And the choicest of his officers are drowned

in the Red Sea.  The deeps cover them; They went

down into the depths like a stone. Your right hand,

O LORD, is majestic in power, Your right hand, O

LORD, shatters the enemy.  And in the greatness of

Your excellence You overthrow those who rise up

against You; You send forth Your burning anger,

and it consumes them as chaff.  At the blast of Your

nostrils the waters were piled up, The flowing waters

stood up like a heap; The deeps were congealed in

the heart
of the sea.  The enemy said, "I will pursue,

I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; My desire shall

be gratified against them; I will draw out my sword,

my hand will destroy them."  You blew with Your

wind, the sea covered them; They sank like lead in

the mighty waters. Who is like You among the gods,

O LORD? Who is like You, majestic in holiness,

Awesome in praises, working wonders?  You

stretched out Your right hand, The earth swallowed

them.  In Your lovingkindness You have led the

people whom You have redeemed; In Your strength

You have guided them to Your holy habitation.

The peoples have heard, they tremble; ... All the

inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.  Terror

and dread fall upon them; By the greatness of Your

arm they are motionless as stone; Until Your people

pass over, O LORD, Until the people pass over

whom You have purchased.  You will bring them

and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance,

The place, O LORD, which You have made for Your

dwelling, The sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands

have established.  The LORD shall reign forever and

ever. -- 15:1-18

NONE OF THESE DISEASES
     And
He said, "If you will give earnest heed to the

voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right

in His sight, and give ear to His commandments,

and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the

diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians;

for I, the LORD, am your healer." -- 15:26

A KINGDOM OF PRIESTS
     Now
then, if you will indeed obey My voice and

keep My covenant, then you shall be My own

possession among all the peoples, for all the earth

is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests

and a holy nation. -- 19:5-6

THE
TEN COMMANDMENTS

Then God spoke all these words, saying,  "I am the

LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of

Egypt, out of the house of slavery.  You shall have

no other gods before Me.

You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any

likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth

beneath or in the water under the earth.  You shall

not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your

God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the

fathers on the children, on the third And the fourth

generations of those who hate Me, but showing

lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me

and keep My commandments.

You shall Not take the name of the LORD your God

in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished

who takes His name in vain.

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.  Six days

you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh

day is a sabbath of the LORD your God; in it you

shall not do any work, you or your Son or your

daughter, your male or your female servant or your

cattle or your sojourner who stays with you. For in

six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth,

the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the

seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath

day and made it holy.

Honor your father and your mother, that your days

may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your

God gives you.

You shall not murder.

You shall not commit adultery.

You shall not steal.

You shall not bear false witness against your

neighbor.

You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall

not covet your neighbor's wife or his male servant

or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or

anything that belongs to your neighbor." -- 20:1-17

 THE FINGER OF GOD
     When
He had finished speaking with him upon Mount

Sinai, He gave Moses the two tablets of the testimony,

tablets of stone, written by the finger of God. -- 31:18
      The
tablets were God's work, and the writing was

God's writing engraved on the tablets. -- 32:16

THE GLORY OF GOD
     Then
Moses said, "I pray You, show me Your glory!"

And He said, "I Myself will make all My goodness

pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the

LORD before you; and I will be gracious to whom I

will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom

I will show compassion."  But He said, "You cannot

see My face, for no man can see Me and live!"  Then

the LORD said, "Behold, there is a place by Me, and

you shall stand there on the rock; and it will come

about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you

in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand

until I have passed by.  Then I will take My hand

away and you shall see My back, but My face shall

not be seen." -- 33:18-23

THE CLOUD BY DAY AND THE FIRE
BY NIGHT
     Then
the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the

glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.  Moses was

not able to enter the tent of meeting because the

cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD

filled the tabernacle.  Throughout all their journeys

whenever the cloud was taken up from over the

tabernacle, the sons of Israel would set out; but if

the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out

until the day when it was taken up.  For throughout

all their journeys, the cloud of the LORD was on the

tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night,

in the sight of all the house of Israel. -- 40:34-38
