THE JERUSALEM ROAD
The Jewish version of the Roman Road

The following Jerusalem Road shows the plan of salvation from the Tenach, the Hebrew Scriptures.

Man was created to have perfect fellowship with HaShem. You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
(Psalms 16:11)
HaShem cannot fellowship with man because of man’s sin. There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins. (Ecclesiastes 7:20 )

Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent
while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves? (Habakkuk 1:13)

Surely the arm of the L-rd is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your G-d; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. (Isaiah 59:1-2)

HaShem will not recognize man’s efforts to remove sin. No man can redeem the life of another or give to G-d a ransom for him--the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough--that he should live on forever and not see decay. (Psalms 49:7-9)

All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. (Isaiah 64:6)

HaShem requires a blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin. For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life. (Leviticus 17:11)
HaShem provides this atonement for sin through the Moshiach of Israel. And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a first- born son. (Zechariah 12:10)

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the L-rd has laid on him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:5-6)

All that is required is faith and a willing heart. And everyone who calls on the name of the L-rd will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the L-rd has said, among the survivors whom the L-rd calls. (Joel 2:32)

They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, 'They are my people,' and they will say, 'The L-rd is our G-d.'"  (Zechariah 13:9 b)

If this makes sense to you, and if you want to turn over control of your life to your loving Father and have peace with God, you can pray the following prayer right now in the privacy of your own room; or, if you would prefer, you can pray with a friend or a pastor.  If you want to talk to someone, but don't know any believers personally, write me and I will talk with you, either on-line or by phone.

If you want a more detailed explanation of the plan of salvation, read How to Get to Heaven.

God,
I know that I have sinned, and need your forgiveness.
I am willing to turn from my sin.
I believe that Y'shua is the Messiah,
that he died on the cross for my sins personally,
and rose again to give me eternal life.
I now trust Y'shua to come into my heart and life,
forgive me of all my sins,
and give me everlasting life.
I am willing to follow and obey Y'shua as the Lord of my life.
AMEN
