FAVORITE PASSAGES

Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, on those who hope for His lovingkindness, to deliver their soul from death and to keep them alive in famine.  Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.  For our heart rejoices in Him, because we trust in His holy name. -- 33:18-21

I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.  My soul will make its boast in the LORD; the humble will hear it and rejoice.  O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.  I sought the LORD, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. -- 34:1-4

I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me and heard my cry.  He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and He set my feet upon a rock making my
footsteps firm.  He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; many will see and fear and will trust in the LORD.
-- 40:7-10

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.   Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah.  There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy dwelling places of the Most High.  God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved. -- 46:1-5

O clap your hands, all peoples; shout to God with the voice of joy.  For the LORD Most High is to be feared, a great King over all the earth.  He subdues peoples under us and nations under our feet.  He chooses our inheritance for us, the glory of Jacob whom He loves. Selah.  God has ascended with a shout, the LORD, with the sound of a trumpet.  Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.  For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with a skillful psalm.  God reigns over the nations, God sits on His holy throne.  The princes of the people have assembled themselves as the people of the God of Abraham, for the shields of the earth belong to God; He is highly exalted. -- 47:1-9

Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions.  Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.  For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.  Against You, You only, I have sinned and done what is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when
You speak and blameless when You judge. -- 51:1-4

The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God," they are corrupt, and have committed abominable injustice; there is
no one who does good.  God has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if there is anyone who understands, who seeks after God.  Every one of them has turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. -- 53:1-3

I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to You among the nations.  For Your lovingkindness is great to the heavens and Your truth to the clouds.  Be exalted above the heavens, O God; let Your glory be above all the earth. -- 57:9-11
