BRIAN AND COLLEEN RICHARDS

HIGH AND HOLY    EASTER MORNING

HIGH AND HOLY

High and holy, perfect in purity,
King of glory, robed in light;
True and unchangeable, sovereign, eternal;
Evil cannot endure in your sight.

        But yet You call to me, and show me your mercy,
        And now in your grace and love I stand;
        For Jesus died for me, and covered my iniquity;
        Your love has met your law's demand.

When I stand alone under the midnight sky,
And gaze at the glittering works of your hand,
I wonder, Who am I, that You take note of me?
The depths of your love, I cannot understand.

        For You call to me, and show me your mercy,
        And now in your grace and love I stand;
        For Jesus died for me, and covered my iniquity;
        Your love has met your law's demand.

EASTER MORNING

        The last act of love, to anoint the Master's body,
        To enter his tomb and bid his silent form goodbye.
        Walking through the dawn's pale light,
        Their pathway dimmed by tears,
        Two women draw near for their last act of love.

        The earth begins to shake and the tomb now stands open.
        No Roman seal withstands the hand of this shining one!
        His voice sounds bright and clear "What you seek is not here,
        Do not be afraid; Come and see where He lay!
                Why do you seek for the Living One here among the dead?
                He lives and goes before you; is it not just as He said?"

        Their first act of joy is to run and tell the others,
        And as they go, the Beloved One appears.
                Joy and wonder o'ercomes them as they cling to His feet,
                For the Master is the victor; death lies broken in defeat.
        Kneeling in the dawn's pale light,
        Their hearts freed from fear,
        They adore the risen Son in a joyful act of love.
