TEMPTING APPLE CRISP

4 cups sliced apples (peeling isn't necessary)
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
2/3 cup flour
2 cups rolled oats (either regular or quick-cooking)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
2/3 cup melted butter

Place apples in shallow baking dish.  Sprinkle with lemon juice.
Combine dry ingredients; add melted butter, mixing until crumbly.
Sprinkle crumb mixture over apples.
Bake in preheatd moderate over (375 degrees) 30 minutes or until apples are tender.

Makes 6 servings.

Note:  For a vegan version, substitute soy margarine for butter.

This is delicious served with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, but not if you're vegan...
