I am, above all things, a follower of Y'shua. In case you don't know, Y'shua is the Jewish way to say Jesus. In light of that, it should be clear that I am a Messianic Jew -- a Jewish person who, believing that Y'shua is the Jewish Messiah, has entered into a living relationship with Him.
I believe that God created us to have an intimate and loving relationship with Himself, but because of our sinful natures, that is not possible; no matter how hard we try, we can't be holy enough to commune with a Holy God. Our sin has made us unacceptable to a perfect God, and it must be atoned for. In Bible times my people sacrificed animals to God, so that their blood would pay the price for their sins. But no animal sacrifice could completely wash away the sins of fallen humans, so God, in His mercy, made a way: He sent His Son, Y'shua, the spotless Lamb of God, to die in our place and make atonement for all our sins.
When the Jewish people were slaves in Egypt, God sent a plague to kill all the firstborn in the land. To save the children of Israel, they had to sacrifice a spotless lamb and spread its blood on the doorposts of their homes; then, when the Angel of Death passed through the land, killing all the firstborn of the Egyptians, he saw the blood and "passed over" the Jewish homes, sparing their children.
Similarly, when we apply the Blood of the Lamb, Y'shua, to the doorposts of our hearts, God sees the blood, accepts it as the atonement for our sins, and adopts us into a loving relationship with Himself, freeing us from death and ushering us into eternal life with Him.
Y'shua rose again as proof of God's acceptance of His atoning death. His resurrection demonstrated that His death was sufficient to pay for all the sins of all mankind, and it gives us proof that we, too, will be resurrected to eternal life with God. Our eternal salvation starts with our rebirth into God's family now, and extends into eternity.
This relationship is free to anyone, Jew and Gentile alike. Whatever your past, whatever your heritage, whatever your lifestyle or culture or position in the world, God loves you and wants to have you enter into a loving relationship with Him. All you have to do is turn to Him in repentance, accept His free gift of salvation through the atoning death of His Son, Y'shua, be cleansed of your sins, and ask Him to enter into your life, to guide you and lead you and love you, now and forever.
All you have to do is ask!
